“Student to Start-Up | Chapter-1” program has been successfully concluded.

“Student to Start-Up | Chapter-1” program has been successfully completed by Innovation Design and Entrepreneur Academy (iDEA) project. The objective of the program is to find out young entrepreneurs with innovative ideas as they can contribute to the country’s progress and development. Innovation Design and Entrepreneur Academy (iDEA) project of Bangladesh Computer Council under the Information and Communication Technology Division in association with the leading youth platform ‘Young Bangla’ under “Centre for Research and Information (CRI)” organized this initiative. This is a national competition and open for all students of Bangladesh to pitch their ideas and get support to accelerate the startups ecosystem.

The First Chapter of the “Students to Startup” program was successfully ended in May 2019 where the top 120 startups from 40 university campaigns were selected for 2 days training program on special topics on Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Startups. Later, top 30 teams were selected through primary pitching among them to face the official ‘Selection Committee’ of iDEA project. Finally, Top 10 startups were selected for Pre-seed grant of amount BDT 10 lakh each while other 20 teams were sent to grooming session. Hon'ble Minister for Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology Mr. Mustafa Jabbar attended the National Startup Camp at Sheikh Hasina national youth development center, Saver on May 14, 2019 and announced the name of winning startups. Before that On March 8, 2019 student startup program started with a slogan of "My invention, My dream" which was inaugurated by Hon'ble State Minister for Information and Communications Technology Division, Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak MP. This initiative is to promote startup culture among the Bangladeshi students so that they may innovate their own solutions and grow as entrepreneur.
